Osteopathy
is a philosophy and form of healthcare which emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function of the body and recognizes the body's ability to heal itself; it is the role of the osteopath to facilitate that process, principally by the practice of manual and manipulative therapy.
You feel that you don’t have your normal ease of movement? Movement and motion are becoming more difficult, a difficult situation as one of the main reasons for living is motion. Our bodies use this motion and movement to move around and enjoy life, be it for work or pleasure.. Different tissues in our body have different motions; the knee bending is a lot different than the liver and the lungs which move to expand and contract, your heart has a completely different motion. These different motions create specific rhythms, which when combined, shape your body to be the person you are. If just one unit gets out of step, disharmony will occur, that means, that the motion of different parts of the body are no longer synchentised become unbalanced and discomfort grows.
Range of application:
-neck symptoms
-back symptoms
-sciatic distress
-knee symptoms
-migrain
-headache
-fatigue and burn-out-syndrome
-circulatory disorder of arms and legs
-indigestion
-and many more
I have a great sense of having achieved something worthwhile when patients feel better and can move freely, it is then that I know that I have been able to harmonize their individual rhythm and have helped them to regain the joy of motion.
Osteopathy regulates your body. Osteopathy is a manipulation technique that detects and treats problems; malfunctions are detected by anatomic examination and specific testing, and are treated in a manner that enables curing. Doctor Andrew Taylor Still (1828-1917) is the „father“of this therapy. The therapy is carried out with the hands and as such is a manual therapy.
Osteopathy is not part of the German conventional medicine; it belongs to the alternative medicine branch. In Germany, you need to be a physician or a” heilpraktiker” to perform this therapy.
